About Javi

Tenor Javier Castro is pursuing his Bachelor’s degree in Vocal Performance at Belmont University, studying with Dr. Mark Whatley.

This summer, he performed Don Curzio in Le nozze di Figaro with Prague Summer Nights, where he also covered Basilio. Past roles include Ferrando (Così fan tutte) with Opera Lucca, Pinocchio (Pinocchio), Roméo (Roméo et Juliette), and the Viscount (The Merry Widow) with Belmont Opera Theatre. He is a NATS finalist in both Classical and Musical Theatre categories and an ICCA World Champion with The Pitchmen.

Javier also sang in the first Nashville Bel Canto Foundation Gala and recently worked with soprano Kathryn Lewek in a Belmont masterclass. In his free time, he enjoys theater, film, and spending time with friends.
