About Katy
Kyungeun (Katy) Lee (Pohang, South Korea), soprano, is a second-year student in the Maryland Opera Studio, where she studies with Dr. Teri Bickham.
She is pursuing the Doctor of Musical Arts degree at the University of Maryland. Lee also holds a Master’s degree and a Professional Studies Diploma from the Mannes School of Music, as well as a Bachelor’s degree in voice from Ewha Womans University in Seoul, South Korea. Her operatic repertoire includes Adele in Die Fledermaus, Papagena in Die Zauberflöte, Susanna (cover) in Le nozze di Figaro, and Endimione in La Calisto. She recently appeared with Opera Lafayette in Dido and Aeneas as a chorus member and cover for the First Witch.
Equally active in concert and competition, she has performed at venues including Carnegie Hall and the Sejong Arts Center, and has participated in major international competitions such as the Queen Elisabeth Competition. Lee was awarded Second Prize in the 37th Annual Annapolis Opera Vocal Competition.

Bel Canto Opera Scenes Intensive

The Nashville Bel Canto Foundation proudly offers the fully-funded Italian Opera Scenes Intensive, a scholarship-based program dedicated to cultivating the next generation of opera talent. This immersive course provides singers with the opportunity to deepen their artistry through the study of Italian operatic repertoire and Bel Canto technique.
